Investigation Report on Competition Mentality about Chinese Public (2013)

Abstract: Excessive competition brings human and society negative impact. According to this survey, the higher competition intensity perception is, the stronger competition consumption Sense one feels, and this relation can't be affected by individual's willingness to competition. Compared with non-interventionist competition, the consumption sense caused by interventionist competition will be stronger. Feelings about competition intensity also affect the level about hypercompetitive attitute. Excessive competition will cause the waste of resource and energy, reduce the social efficiency, and not conductive to social stability. The reason that people fear of taking part in competition, is not that they lack the sense of competition. Policy makers should change the unfair and unreasonable competition mechanism by improving aseassment criteria and reward system.
