How to Establish a Diversified Cooperative Mechanism for Solving Social Conflicts

Abstract: In recent years, the Chinese governments at all levels have effectively resolved a large number of social conflicts, created effective local experiences in that regard, and promoted social harmony and stability. However, some new social conflicts have begun to emerge, the intensity of the conflicts increases, and the tactics and methods adopted by parties involved in the conflicts are more complex, this poses challenges to the governance system, governance mechanism, and governance measures for the social conflicts. The single social conflict resolution mechanism now is far from meeting the actual need, and requires the government to implement collaborative governance, comprehensive governance, and governance according to law, fully mobilize the resources from all social sectors, and adopt diverse means to solve the complex conflicts. The diversified social conflict settlement mechanism calls for the concerted efforts of the administrative organs, judicial organs, and nongovernmental groups as well as improved organizational framework, straightened-out relationship, and optimized processes, in order to achieve the effective resolution of the social conflicts.
